Where would you go on a shopping spree?
For the past 4-5 years most of my shopping is done @ Decathlon.
From casual every day wear to outdoor attire and base layers for motorcycle rides, and handy luggage systems, you name it and it’s available there.
Good to see the quality that they maintain for the price they ask. If you haven’t tried Decathlon, try the nearest outlet today.
Good day to you👍🏻.
What is the last thing you learned?
I started preparing for a job change so decided to learn spring boot and also some deep java. Spent almost 3 months in learning and recently decided to add a learning path for azure certifications.
Getting ready to take my 1st fundamentals certification exam in a couple of weeks.
Never stop learning and updating in your profession. Flow like water and never be stagnant.
Good day to you👍🏻.
What is one question you hate to be asked? Explain.
Nothing literally. In fact I always like to answer the most irritating questions this society asks with a straight forward and in your face answer.
Many people like that feeling of putting you in a bad spot. If you feel irritated and agitated with their questions then that makes up the day for them.
If you give a straight forward and open answer then they feel bad for asking a question. Do this daily and they won’t even think about pissing you off.
Good day to you👍🏻.
How has a failure, or apparent failure, set you up for later success?
I got rejected in the 1st ever interview in my undergraduation when most of my class mates got selected in that company.
I can say this as a failure. Then i got selected in the next company which dragged for a year to provide date of joining. I’d say this as an apparent failure.
During this phase I had lost a year and decided to pursue post graduation which i’d say is the best decision I took that time.
I did post graduation in a reputed university on a cutting edge technology and when i got my first job there I was on the salary band of my friends who got placed earlier in UG but now I got a PG degree too.
Won’t brag this as a success but really a weird path. What i’d say is never lose hope no matter how bad life goes down. Take care of yourself and focus on making yourself better physically, emotionally and financially and everything will fall into place.
Good day to you👍🏻.
Do you believe in fate/destiny?
I don’t believe in fate or destiny. What I believe in is that whatever it is, if you can act on that you have control of it and you can change it.
Falling sick is not in your hands but taking medicines and recovering sooner is. So I always focus on the recovering part.
What experiences in life helped you grow the most?
Rejection:
When I proposed to the same girl twice in a gap of 3 years she didn’t accept me both the times.
I performed well in my 1st interview in college, even then i didn’t get selected when almost the whole of my class was selected in the interview
Rejection really teaches you a lot. What to expect, what not to expect, how to be and how not to be.
Finance and passion:
Having a passion is mandatory. It provides your life a purpose and gives you a pivot whenever you feel low.
When your passion becomes your hobby and when you need more money to elevate to the next level and when you don’t have that, you understand where you stand in your life financially.
Then you look up from the darkness and see that small light which is your passion and you start to climb.
Good day to you🫡.
What are three objects you couldn’t live without?
Phone:
It’s an obvious answer. In this digital world a phone is not just an object but a part of you. I do more on that daily be it transactions, work related and also enjoyment and even hobbies like wordpress.
Bike:
I love to travel and especially on my bike. I ride professionally with all the riding gears and have been riding since 2015 and more than 60k km and counting.
Workstation:
Whenever i work or learn something new or type my posts on wordpress I do it in my workstation (My desk and executive chair plus my 24″ monitor). Not only they provide comfort but also it behaves a small world of mine where am productive.
Good day to you🫡.
You’re writing your autobiography. What’s your opening sentence?
Life was good on earth until I was born.
The reason why I decided to write about this is because of the effort I had to put in getting Jio True 5G in my US unlocked S22 Plus. I was able to find almost all the information regarding this but the problem was they were not under one roof. So I wanna explain how you can get Jio True 5G in your phone that you have bought outside of India.
Before starting, I’d like to bust some myths prevailing about this topic so that you can be relieved.
All the above mentioned are not at all needed. What you need to do are the following 2 things.
Unlocking the 5G bands is fairly simple but at the same time is little bit nerdy. Everyone can do it but not everyone will have the interest to take that route.
An awesome thread on how to do this is available in XDA which talks about US unlocked Samsung phone but the point is common for all the phones. You need to enable all the 5G bands and you can find the post here.
Added, this post is mostly applicable for Samsung smartphone owners who bought their phones outside of India. iPhones work out of the box and if you have other well known chinese OEM phones then you’d have bought it in India only and you’re already rocking 5G.
Once you enable the secret codes and all the bands, you can see something like:

For getting Jio’s Welcome Offer, you don’t have any choice but to swap your sim with your friend or a relative who has a 5G phone bought from India. Just make sure you’re in a 5G area and you can choose the Welcome Offer banner that you get inside the app.
Once you’ve done this, patience is the key. Some say you get enrolled into welcome offer immediately and some say you need to keep the sim in their phone for 48 hours. I definitely didn’t keep my sim in my brother in law’s phone for more than 8 hours.
I swapped my sim to his phone by noon and by night I swapped it back to my phone as I didn’t get the welcome offer, though we tried enrolling multiple times. And suddenly by midnight when I casually went into the Jio app, the app refreshed itself and I got enrolled to the Welcome offer.
The only clarification we don’t have is whether it took time for me as I did this on a Sunday. May be you can try this on a weekday and let me know in the comments if you got enrolled immediately or you had to wait.
So once you got the Welcome offer, you would see something like this:

In the pic below you can still see that Jio hasn’t recognized my phone as a 5G device, yet, I get 5G.

And that’s how you roll. If you have read till here, I know how excited and anxious you’re to get 5G in your phone and don’t worry you will. I can surely say I have been trying to get 5G and finding ways to do so for more than 2 weeks now and I can safely say many are still trying to do so.
Atleast Jio has mentioned in the app that True 5G works for phones bought in India. But Samsung should definitely come up and give some clarification on the bands enabled by default because I could see many people desperately waiting for 5G in the Samsung Members community.
