Are you patriotic? What does being patriotic mean to you?
I was. There was a time I was very patriotic when I was a student.
Not much now, after I got dragged into the reality of life.
In India, a couple of years ago they brought a weird rule of playing our national anthem in movie theatres before the start of every movie.
Ironically, national anthem is supposed to be played at the end of an event, atleast, that’s how I was brought up.
Initially this rule was criticised like anything and government had to tweak it a bit and now in metro cities, I don’t even see theatres playing it.
Still, movie theatres in rural areas does it.
As I rarely go to movies, it feels fine for me to stand up to national anthem bringing back school memories.
But for someone who likes to watch movies especially in theatres, this might be annoying. Purely my opinion.
